Promusica showcases a ballet spectacular
Following the success of their sold-out show “Celebrations” in 2012, CSA is back with Chiaro Scuro.
The Promusica Theatre in Roodepoort will be hosting a ballet spectacular on four and five November when the Christian School of the Arts will be hosting Chiaro Scuro (Light & Shade).
The performance will feature a dazzling display of fiery classical ballet and poignant contemporary dance to the sound of well-known Broadway musicals. Performers include the 2013 South African Champions in both classical ballet and modern dance as well as the 2012 World Showdance Champions.
Chiaro Scuro also boasts some of South Africa’s leading choreographers and personalities, including much-loved ex-principal Ballerina/Artistic Director of SABT fame – Karen Beukes-Macdonald, former USSR Senior Soloist Azer Mirzoev, as well as Leanne Bowring, Daniel Swanepoel and Anneliese Venter. Musical Theatre Directors include Des van der Walt and Brad Cunningham and actor Carl Beukes (soon to appear on circuit in the film “Long Walk to Freedom,” opening in January 2014).
Not to be missed, Chiaro Scuro is running for three performances only (including a school’s matinee) on 4 and 5 November at the Roodepoort Theatre.
