Two teams from Maragon Robotic club represented Gauteng North at the National Competition of the WRO (World Robotic Olympiad). Marco Pretorius and Dylan Rheeders won gold in the Senior High Open category. Both boys will represent South Africa in November at the annual World Robotic Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. The team and its robot were invited to exhibit at the IDC (Industrial Innovation summit) International Innovation Summit held at the IDC in Sandton earlier this month. They had great success and stood proud among South African innovators. The Junior High team of Rueben Pretorius, Michael Phillips and Matthew White put up a strong fight, only just missing out on the medals at the tournament. Maragon Robotic club will again challenge teams at the 2014 WRO next year.
