Honeydew Manor resident wins People’s Choice Award

Honeydew Manor resident Darren Reddy (18), who recently won the Face of Clearwater Mall’s People’s Choice Award, is now rather sad this “cool” experience is over.

“I have made so many friends and most of them I will probably never see again. We spent a lot of time in each other’s company. Every day was like a social event.”

For a week in advance the participants rehearsed until midnight. “It was an intense and a very rapid process. While we were rehearsing the stage was still being built, it was amazing to see.”

The evening was divided into four sets, beginning with black and white clothing. Then came denim, summer wear and lastly cocktail outfits.

“It took three hours to prepare for the show which ran from 7.30pm to 10pm. We were on cue the entire time and even though it was hard work I had a lot of fun. Tons of people came to watch.”

Reddy will be modelling in a photoshoot at Clearwater Mall in October, and the images will be displayed on the mall’s billboards.
