What started out as a Grade Four outing resulted in a large donation to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
Upon learning about the good work this non-profit organisation does, Trinityhouse pupils Mickayla Klerck and Tony-Ann Joffe were deeply moved. This, after the school’s annual marketing day aimed at raising funds for the anti-cruelty league and the Thandanani school in Zandspruit.
Then Klerck and Joffe thought: why don’t we do even more from our side?
The two girls joined forces and Joffe’s mother drew up a donation form.
They also carried out telephonic canvassing and their dedication lead to them raising R1 675.
Education officer at the animal anti-cruelty league Johann Steenkamp wrote a letter thanking the girls.
“We compliment you on your hard work to collect this generous donation and realise that it is given with love and compassion. It is only through the kindness and goodwill of wonderful animal loving people like you, that we are able to continue our work of protecting and caring for animals.”
