First warm water in 50 years

Roll out of solar geysers in full swing.

Approximately 500 residents of Davidsonville are the new proud owners of free solar-powered geysers.

The project, which was an initiative of Councillor Gert Niemand, was rolled out on 26 August and a week later approximately 500 of the 250 litre eco-friendly geysers had been installed. This is almost a third of the targeted 1 500 homes.

Some of the residents, such as in Rainbow Village, have homes that are 50 years and older and now have warm water for the first time.

The project is sponsored by Eskom and endorsed by City Power.
