Florida Primary School has defended their Spelling Bee title successfully thanks to four pupils.
This after Reece Dickson, Sabrina Frans, Kaamilah Heath and Shaazia Schroeder competed in a recent Spelling Bee competition sponsored by the CII Youth Foundation. This foundation has embarked on a literacy campaign, promoting the importance of spelling.
The programme is for Grade 6 pupils only.
Reaching the top six were Kaamilah, Shaazia and Reece. Reece eventually went on to win the competition and with it, R1 000 for himself and R2 000 for his school.
