Roadblock to celebrate Women’s month

As an initiative of Brigadier Thandi Kupiso, Station Commander of Roodepoort SAPS, two all-female roadblocks were held on 22 August.

The team of officers supported by an all-female JMPD team held roadblocks on Impala Road and Mouton Street. They were assisted also by the Youth Desk and SAPS Women’s Network who handed out pamphlets on social ills such as drug addiction. Although a serious event, the mood was lighthearted as officers even joked with male motorists urging to love their wives.

No arrests were made.
