Princess High School soccer team in action

Princess High soccer team outclass rivals.

When Princess High School pupils took part in an international programme intended to empower the youth in the community, the Record was invited to take part.

The programme, Athletics in Action, is headed by Michael and his fellow mates from the Netherlands. They visited South Africa during the 2010 Fifa World Cup and saw most of the townships in the country.

Their programme is Christian-based and they use sports (soccer) as a tool by which school pupils are taught about God and what He can do in their lives. They presented the same programme in Soshanguve the week before and were received well by the public.

The Princess High School soccer team were very delighted to host visitors from Europe and they learnt a lot about soccer and about Jesus Christ.

The Princess High School soccer coach, Mr Thabo was very delighted to see his team taking part in this international programme aimed at uplifting the youth in the community. Coach Thabo has been in charge of this team for some time now and the team has achieved a lot under his guidance.

Coach Thabo urges anyone in the community to sponsor soccer balls and soccer kits for his team, but says that any form of sponsorship will be welcome. Those who wish to donate to the team should feel free to call coach Thabo on 074 236 5595.

These are the results of the matches the team was involved in recently:

Westridge 2-4 Princess High

Florida Park 0-2 Princess High (cancelled due to rain)

Midrand High 1-2 Princess High (27 April 2013 soccer tournament)
