Roads Agency active in Roodepoort
JRA employees were spotted "fixing the streets of Witpoortjie".
Out on the streets, Record journalists came across JRA employees working in Witpoortjie at 12 noon on Tuesday 13 August.
JRA’s Matodzi Matidza explained their work on the corner of Dromedaris and Setlaar Streets.
“We are doing our job in fixing Witpoortjie roads.
“Today we are on Dromedaris Street to work on the paving and install manhole covers,” Matidza explained, pointing to the paving in front of the corner house.
“This is being done to ensure that residents will not complain about flooding on this street.”
Matidza said that “caps need to be installed for water not to spill over on the sidewalk”.
The JRA employees also were fixing the sidewalk to improve access to the residences.
Previously, the Record reported on the JRA repaving Steinmann Street in Breaunanda.
JRA spokespersons were not available for comment about other Roodepoort projects.
