Racing for a cause
Participants are welcomed to the 2013 Round Table trolley race at Clearwater Mall this August
The Roodepoort Round Table 162 will be hosting their fourth trolley racing event on 18 August at the Clearwater Mall.
Chairman of the Round Table, Danie Odendaal added that the event will start at 7am, and as in the past, there will be amazing prizes to be won. Winners will be categorised as first, second and third position. There will be an award for the best team spirit and the best decorated trolley, as well as the wooden spoon award.
The race is a team effort, in which four people compete between two points. Three people push the trolley and the fourth person remains seated inside the trolley.
“The main aim of Round Table is to enjoy fellowship with people from all walks of life.”
It is usually a fun experience for those who participate in the race. However, the entrance is R500 per trolley and all profits are donated to the Roodepoort Round Table 162 club charity fund, which works mainly with the Gateway Society that includes the village and the school, as well as the Matla a Bana abused children society.
To register, fill out a registration form and email it to trolley@roundtable162.com or visit the website at www.roundtable162.com.
