Prayers for Honeydew police service

Known for their community work in the Honeydew area, faith-based service Operation Divine Intervention (ODI) hosted another successful event in the fight against crime.

The event is known as Police Sunday, and, according to Honeydew police’s communications officer Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, it’s hosted each year in an effort to get local residents together to pray for the South African Police Service as a whole.

“Every year the service invites churches within the Honeydew precinct and beyond to take part,” she said.

This year, 13 churches in the Honeydew police precinct were involved in the initiative. Churches were requested to pray during their services for the following:

nMembers of Honeydew police, for their physical and emotional protection,

nFamilies of Honeydew police members,

nChildren, who are exposed to crime, domestic and otherwise,

nPerpetrators, that God may change them and and their hearts.
