It has been a busy week for the Municipal Desk with a barrage of complaints so let’s start straight away.
A reader from Selvyn has let the TLR know that although the public gets preached at to save electricity that the Sassa building in Roodepoort has all their lights burning after hours.
There have been hundreds of queries about Pikitup and we are happy to publish that by 12 July each area would have been serviced. According to communications from Pikitup they again are able to reach every area every week.
After 50 days the power is still out for the residents opposite Princess informal settlement and the councillor is at the end of his tether. Let’s all put pressure on City Power to come to these people’s aid urgently.
TLR also is getting loads of complaints about streetlights that either are not burning or burning 24 hours a day and about regular power cuts in places such as Lindhaven. If the public does not come right through the official channels, they can contact the Depot Manager Solomon Benghu directly on his cellphone on 083 278 0248.
To end, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs asks that the public come to their auction at 1 Randskroon Street, Horison on 16 July at 12pm.
Please keep on sending your problems to riaanvz@caxton.co.za.
