Friends die on Ouklip: JMPD confirms driver was speeding
... and alcohol levels only to be revealed by a post mortem.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says only a post mortem will reveal whether or not the driver of the vehicle who was killed in Sunday’s accident was over the legal alcohol limit.
According to a forensic analyst this can take up to two years.
Minnaar commented on the accident in which Christo Oosthuizen and Stefan Botha died after crashing into a tree. “JMPD officers who attended the scene say that they could not smell alcohol on the person or persons. Only a post mortem can reveal the truth.
“We believe, however, that the vehicle was travelling at a high speed, considering that there was no brake marks on the road and the damage to the tree.
“What officers did find was a mark against a curb/pavement indicating that the driver swerved across the other lane to make the turn.”
