Jozua Naudé crowned Roodepoort football champs

u.13s defend their title with 4-0 win in final.

The U/13 football team from Jozua Naudé Primary School managed to secure their second consecutive Roodepoort title by beating Arthur Mathews Primary 4-0 in the final on Wednesday 5 June.

Striker Kamogelo Mainana scored a hat trick while right winger, Letabo Letswebe scored the other. Man of the match was captain and central midfielder, Kgotso Ledelo. Jozua Naudé Primary School’s U/11 team were also crowned champs after beating Culembeeck Primary 3-1.

This victory for the u.31s also means that they have kept their remarkable unbeaten record for the past two years intact. Only Roodepoort Primêr held the team to a 1-1 draw – Jozua Naudé did manage to beat Roodepoort Primêr in another clash. Other than the one draw, opposition such as Unified, Florida Primary, Culembeeck, Weltevreden Park, Constantia Kloof, Horizon View Primary and Discovery was no match.

Head coach of the team, Kgomotso Molele said that, “I am extremely proud of the boys. The team has been playing together since U/12 and they are undefeated ever since”.

Assistant coach of the team, Thando Vellah added that, “This team just has the killer instinct. They push themselves to the very limits and train hard”.

The coaches even went that far to say that there are players within the team who are potential Bafana-Bafana players for the future.

And of course, in a champion team there comes a reward which is why two of the players, Dakagtso Zandile (goalkeeper) and Thabo Mokuena (defending midfielder) have been included recently in the overall Roodepoort team.
